Capturing pictures from your videos without using a special tool can be a bit difficult. Of course, you can use the PrintScreen button on your keyboard, and then use Paint to edit and save the picture, but that can be very time consuming (not to mention the possible complications due to various overlays that your video player may be using). Programs like Video Snapshots Genius are designed to offer a quicker and more efficient solution to this task.
Video Snapshots Genius is a user-friendly application that will help you capture images from your videos. The program can automatically capture as many pictures as you wish from random frames or allow you to manually select the images that you want to save. One of the biggest advantages that Video Snapshots Genius brings to the table is that it can work with numerous video formats and supports a number of image formats as output: it supports some of the most popular video formats such as AVI, FLV, MPEG, RM etc.; and it lets you save in several image formats like JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF and TIF.
Another thing that I liked about Video Snapshots Genius is its ability to create thumbnail files from the pictures that it captures. You can decide on the size of the images within the combined image, their spacing, and alignment.
Unfortunately, Video Snapshots Genius has a major drawback. The program has some big problems whenever you change the video that you want to process. In my case, it either crashed or simply got stuck capturing the same picture from the previous movie that I had loaded. more
